At the PIPESPEC 2006 conference in Amsterdam, March 2006, the initiative INPIPECO started for setting up an alignment of the members of the pipeline industry. In May 2007 INPIPECO e.V. was founded as an initiative of members of the pipeline industry to intensify collaboration and dynamics of development  and to initiate innovation projects for pipeline planning, construction and operation or other related technologies.

INPIPECO´s idea is to support innovation ideas for implementation, to support the finding of solutions for demands, to support innovative networks as well by integrating know-how from experts and partners of high tech industries.
